Ahmed made his T20 debut for Rajasthan during the 2016-17 Inter-State Twenty-20 Tournament. Khaleel’s performance in the Tri-Nation event was outstanding, taking 12 wickets in three innings.

The 2019 IPL season was the greatest of his career, with the pacer taking 19 wickets in nine games. SRH dropped him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction following a pair of sluggish seasons in 2020 and 2021. The Delhi Capitals signed him for INR 5.25 crore, and the pacer returned their faith by taking 16 wickets this season. However, 2023 was cut short due to injury again, as the bowler took 9 wickets in 9 games as the Capitals were one of the season’s nightmare teams.
