Vijay Sethupathi was born on January 16, 1978, in Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu, India. His father, Kalimuthu, was a civil engineer, and his mother’s name is Saraswathi.
He completed his education at MGR Higher Secondary School in Kodambakkam. He earned a B.com degree from Dhanraj Baid Jain College in Chennai. He worked various jobs for pocket money, including salesman at a retail store, cashier at a fast food restaurant, and phone booth operator.
