Fahadh Faasil

Indian actor and producer Fahadh Faasil, often known as Fahad Fazil, primarily works in the Malayalam cinema industry. Fahadh has become one of the most well-known actors in Indian cinema, gaining both domestic and foreign acclaim for his nuanced and unusual performances.

Early Life And Education

The film director Fazil and his wife Rozina welcomed him into the world on Sunday, August 8, 1982, in Alappuzha, Kerala, India. He has three siblings: two sisters, Ahameda and Fatima, and a brother, Farhaan (Actor).

Fahad attended a variety of schools, including Choice School Tripunithura, Lawrence School Ooty, and SDV Central School Alappuzha. After that, he attended Sanatana Dharma College in Alleppey to pursue a bachelor’s degree. Later, Fahad traveled to the United States to attend the University of Miami to obtain an M.A. in philosophy.

In August 2014, Fahadh wed actress Nazriya Nazim. During their time together on the set of Bangalore Days (2014), the couple’s romance started. Off-screen, their romance grew and they were happily married. The pair is well-known for their common love of movies and their discreet yet loving public appearances.

Movies Career

Fahadh made his cinematic debut at the age of 17 with ‘Kaiyethum Doorath’, directed by his father Fazil in 2002. After a 7-year absence, Fahadh returned to the industry with the 2009 short film ‘Kerala Cafe’. He captured the attention of both his fans and critics with his incredible performances. He later portrayed the protagonist in the suspenseful film Chaappa Kurishu, released in 2011.

Fahad gained popularity with viewers by playing conventional parts. At the same time, he became popular with both crowds and reviewers. In 2018, he won the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum. In 2018, he starred as Prakashan in the highest-grossing Malayalam film Njan Prakashan and as Aby in Varathan.

Fahadh’s performance as an ambitious and ethically troubled figure in Joji (2021), which was inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth, won considerable appreciation. Fahadh made his pan-Indian film debut with Pushpa: The Rise (2021), playing the antagonist Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film, starring Allu Arjun, was a huge commercial success, generating more than _350 crore globally. He reprised his role in the sequel, Pushpa: The Rule (2024).

Fahadh Faasil co-founded the production company Fahadh Faasil and Friends, which produces relevant and unique films. The banner has supported a number of critically acclaimed films, helping to advance Malayalam cinema.
