Anumula Revanth Reddy is an active political leader in Telangana. Reddy, originally from Mahabubnagar, has been engaged in politics since he was a child. During his graduation, he led the ABVP. He earned a degree from Osmania University’s A.V. College. Later, he joined the Telugu Desam Party and began full-fledged political activity.
Early Life And Education
He was born November 8, 1969, in Kondareddy Palli, Vangur, Mahabubnagar district. They are part of a farming family. Anumula Narsimha Reddy is the father, while Anumula Ramachandramma is the mother. Revanth, who has been involved in politics since he was a child, served as a student leader in the ABVP student wing during his graduation. Revanth earned his degree from AV college. In 1992, he married Geetha Reddy, the daughter of former Union Minister and prominent Congress Party leader Jaipal Reddy’s brother. Revanth and Geetha have only one child, Naimisha Reddy.
Revanth Reddy Career
Revanth Reddy started as a TRS activist. He spent a year working as an activist in TRS because he wanted to be a part of the revolution. Then, in 2004, he was upset since he had expected a ticket from Kalvakurthi. Revanth Reddy did not receive a ticket as part of the partnership. Despite his expectations that KCR would issue him a ticket in the 2006 ZPTC elections, he faced another setback. With that, he stated his unhappiness with TRS and left the party.
In 2006, after the TDP rejected his candidacy to run as Midzel ZPTC in Mahabubnagar district, he ran as an independent and won. He made headlines as a fantastic leader at the time. In 2008, he ran as an independent candidate for the combined Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council and was elected as an MLC. Later, he joined the TDP in the presence of its president, Nara Chandrababu Naidu.
The following year, in the 2009 assembly elections, he ran as a TDP candidate from the Kodangal constituency and won. In 2014, following the split of united Andhra Pradesh, he won his second election as a TDP candidate from Telangana’s Kodangal constituency. He also served as the leader of the TTDP Legislative Assembly.
Appointment as Congress PCC President
In 2017, Revanth Reddy and other leaders traveled to Delhi and joined the Congress party in the presence of Rahul Gandhi. In 2018, he was appointed as one of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee’s three working presidents, and he will become the PCC president in 2021. Revanth Reddy ran for the 2018 assembly elections from Kodangal but lost, hence the Congress handed him the option to run from Malkajgiri in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Revanth defeated Marri Rajasekhar Reddy in this election. He entered Parliament for the first time.
Becoming the Chief Minister of Telangana
