Vijay Sethupathi‘s actual name is Vijaya Gurunatha Sethupathi. He is an Indian film actor, producer, lyricist, and dialogue writer who works in Tamil cinema. Fans, spectators, and the Tamil Nadu media refer to him as “Makkal Selvan”.
Early Life and Education
Vijay Sethupathi was born on January 16, 1978, in Rajapalayam, Tamil Nadu, India. His father, Kalimuthu, was a civil engineer, and his mother’s name is Saraswathi.
He completed his education at MGR Higher Secondary School in Kodambakkam. He earned a B.com degree from Dhanraj Baid Jain College in Chennai. He worked various jobs for pocket money, including salesman at a retail store, cashier at a fast food restaurant, and phone booth operator. After graduation, Sethupathi worked as an account assistant.
He eventually relocated to Dubai as an accountant, where he met a woman named Jessie online. After dating for two years, the couple married on November 14, 2003.
Vijay Sethupathi Career
Sethupathi made his acting debut in 2004 with the part of ‘Boxing spectator’ in the film ‘M. Kumaran Son of Mahalakshmi’. Later appeared in films such as ‘Pudhupettai’, ‘Lee’, ‘Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu’, ‘Naan Mahaan Alla’, and ‘Bale Pandiya’.
For the first time, Setupathi portrayed the lead in the film ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’. Later appeared in films like as ‘Varnam’, ‘Sundarapandian’, and ‘Pizza’. Setupathi rose to prominence in 2012 when he played the lead part of “Prem Kumar” in the film “Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom”.
